COST OF REGISTERING FOR AN EXAM.
The price of entering for an exam varies slightly from board to board ranging from
£16.50 to £19 for a subject at GCSE and from £31 to £32 at A Level. Exams which are modular
can cost a bit more. The fee for taking a Scotish standard grade exam is £17.25
and for a higher exam £21. Making a late entry after the normal closing date can cost as much
as twice the usual fee.

Your teachers will advise you and your parents on what exams you should
try for. The teachers will then do the paper work required by the chosen
board or boards.

If you are not at a recognised school or place of learning and want to register
for an exam you will find that you have two main problems. The first is that you will
not be allowed to enter for some subjects which tend to be ones that involve
course work like laboratory projects. The second problem is finding a place
to actually go and do the exams; you will need to ask a recognised examination centre ( usually a school )
to register you. If the place agrees, thats where you take your exam.
